What You’ll Do

  • Effectively contribute to the mission of Atlas Schools by executing rigorous and standards-aligned curriculum  
  • Deliver daily, weekly, interim, and end-of-year assessments to consistently capture student learning
  • Collaborate with colleagues and instructional coaches with sincerity and a growth mindset
  • Support colleagues during their absences by providing classroom coverage (compensated additionally)
  • Actively participate in professional development and learning opportunities as needed/required
  • Draft student report cards to ensure meaningful information is displayed for families and revise as needed 
  • Actively engage with families to understand their backgrounds and experiences in order to support an equitable and inclusive school environment 
  • Be present for all quarterly parent/teacher conferences and actively engage with families
  • Support the summer REACH beyond program 
  • Participate in additional activities including field trips, academic support sessions, community building  events, and other required programs as needed throughout the year to best serve our children and community 
  • Support various duties to include arrival, dismissal, and lunch  
  • Perform other related duties as assigned 

Compensation & Schedule

  • Salaried/Exempt
  • Annual Salary* Range: $50,500 - $59,313 (DOE)
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday; Occasional evenings as needed

Annual Calendar and Start Date

  • 209* work days per academic year
  • Start Date: As Soon as Possible

*Prorated if the employee's start date is after July 1st. 


Who You Are

  • Hold a sincere interest and possess expertise in visual or fine arts 
  • Able to meet “in-field status” by fulfilling at least ONE of the following qualifications within 6 months of hire: 
  • Possess an active CDE license, with endorsement in the related subject area ; or
  • Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree or higher degree in fine art/visual arts; or
  • Have successfully passed 24 semester hours of coursework as identified on the CDE's visual arts worksheet; or
  • Have successfully passed (within 10 years) PRAXIS 5135  
  • Ability to successfully pass all required background screening  
  • Be sincerely dedicated to educational equity and creating a rigorous, nurturing, and joyful educational experience for all students

Essential Job Functions

  • Prolonged periods of standing and sitting  
  • Must be able to reach, stoop, kneel, push, and pull  
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times  
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed 
  • Must be able to successfully abide by all policies and procedures of Atlas Preparatory School
