The League offers self-paced resources, customized training, coaching, and strategic planning support for new and experienced boards. Services can be delivered virtually or in person and tailored to a board’s current needs.

This free, self-paced course equips board members, school leaders, and authorizer liaisons with practical tools across governance foundations, legal compliance, financial oversight, school leader support, academic accountability, and effective meetings.

The Charter School Board Governance Playbook is a practical guide for current and aspiring board members. It includes discussion prompts, case studies, tools, templates, worksheets, and policy examples that boards can use for onboarding, retreats, self-study, and ongoing improvement.

Strategic Planning

Cost: Focus Group Facilitation $500/group  |  Board Facilitation $1500  | Drafting Strategic Plan $175-$250 an hour

A strong strategic plan connects mission, priorities, resources, and measurable outcomes. The League can support stakeholder engagement, focus groups, SWOT analysis, facilitated planning sessions, goal development, metrics, timelines, and drafting support.

Customized Board Support

Board needs vary by school and stage of development. The League can tailor support for a full board, committee, individual member, or board-school leader partnership.

• Customized board training on roles, legal responsibilities, finance, academic oversight, committees, meetings, policy, performance management, external relations, and board development.
• Board refreshers focused on a specific topic during a meeting or retreat.
• Individual onboarding for new board members.
• Board and school leader coaching during leadership transitions or periods of organizational change.

Typical cost: $175-$250 per hour. Half-day and full-day training packages may also be available.
