Board of Directors

The Colorado League of Charter Schools' Board of Directors is responsible for the management and business affairs of the League as well as for providing general guidance to the League's President in the form of policy directives. Board members are expected to take leadership roles within the League, while maintaining their leadership roles in the greater education community.

Background/Purpose:

  • To advise the CLCS Board of Directors and staff on policies and priorities with impacts on charter schools throughout the state.

Structure:

  • Representing a range of school types, the Member Council shall be comprised of regional representatives that are geographically aligned with the various regions of schools that CLCS serves.

Qualifications of Member Council Representatives:

  • Serve in a Colorado charter school that is a member in good standing. Maintain executive level position with that charter school throughout Member Council service.
  • Committed to ensuring clear outcomes-based academic accountability for all Colorado’s charter schools.

Replacement and Resignation Process:

  • Replacement candidates can be nominated by a CLCS Board or staff member or an existing Member Council representative.
  • The CLCS President and Board Chair will consider all nominations and make a final recommendation to the Member Council. The CLCS Board reserves to right to remove Member Council reps by majority vote if necessary.
  • Member terms will be for 3 years.

Meetings:

  • The Member Council shall have at least three standing meetings each year with some meetings taking place virtually. Additional meetings may be called as necessary.
