The Role of Gatekeeper Trainings in Suicide Prevention

The Colorado Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Fiscal Year 2025 grant application is now open, offering approximately $7M for infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects to enhance safe transportation for students, including high school programs. Applications are due by noon on November 4, 2024, with funding for infrastructure projects increasing to $1M; eligible applicants include political subdivisions of the state. Thousands of Colorado’s youth have received free therapy through I Matter since the program launched in 2021. On September 24th, at 11:30 a.m., I Matter representatives from the Behavioral Health Administration will host a webinar to provide valuable program information and answer questions. Six Colorado charter schools are among 32 recipients of a CDE Local Food Program (LFP) grant whose pilot was extended for the 24-25 school year. Dishing up local food with a focus on nutrition, education and community are: Colorado Early Colleges Fort Collins (CECFC), The Academy, Pinnacle Charter School, Windsor Charter Academy, The STEAD School, and Community Leadership Academy.

The U.S. National Library of Medicine has selected the CDC-sponsored Tools for Supporting Emotional Wellbeing in Children and Youth for its historical collections. These free resources, grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy, provide practical skills for managing stress, such as belly breathing and mindfulness, available in English and Spanish. The tools are presented through engaging videos and PDF comics, offering valuable support to children, youth, and caregivers.
