Preventing School Violence Grant Program

USDA is excited to continue its support for local foods in schools by opening applications for the 2025 Patrick Leahy Farm to School Grants. For the first time, USDA is allowing organizations to select the type of Farm to School Grant that best fits their needs by offering three different requests for applications. Round two of Boise State’s Project Supporting Community Agriculture and Local Education System (Project SCALES) sub-grants is open nationwide to all School Food Authorities participating in the National School Lunch Program and food industry partners. The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced a new School Food System Transformation Grant that will provide up to $8.5 million in total funding to foster partnerships that improve school food systems and food options available to students. Applications are due on December 13, 2024. See more information here.

The Colorado Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Fiscal Year 2025 grant application is now open, offering approximately $7M for infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects to enhance safe transportation for students, including high school programs. Applications are due by noon on November 4, 2024, with funding for infrastructure projects increasing to $1M; eligible applicants include political subdivisions of the state.
