Bilingual Spanish Para Professional
Colorado High School Charter is seeking a full-time Para Professional (bilingual in Spanish) at our GES Campus. In partnership with a number of community organizations, Colorado High School provides students with a unique and innovative learning environment that allows them to focus on project-based core content classes (Language Arts, Social Studies, Math and Science) while taking advantage of numerous concurrent enrollment and community partner opportunities.

As a counselor at CHSC, you will have the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with students while receiving regular coaching and professional development to allow you to deliver exceptional services for students who have not found success elsewhere.
Job Description
Primary responsibilities
Deliver specified course content in the absence of the classroom teacher.
Follow defined lesson plans set forth by classroom teacher.
Assist students with their coursework and communicate assignment expectations.
Adapt instructional approach to the individual needs of the students.
Provide a safe learning environment and deploy proper classroom management strategies.
Collaborate with other instructional staff, including social workers, speech language pathologists, Special Education teachers, etc., as needed.
Perform teaching related duties of the assigned school including covering class (es) for an absent teacher.
Assist with school-wide assessments including CMAS, SAT, MAP testing, etc., if necessary.
Support and/or facilitate programming during Enrichment Period (3:35-4:30)
Deeply value developing strong relationships, rapport and trust with students.
Engage with Restorative Justice practices
Actively participate in professional learning communities, professional development, and staff team‐building exercises
Engage families and community members through phone calls and CHSC Family Nights, graduation and other activities.
Collaborate with colleagues and administration to refine own practice.
Work with computers, smart boards and other AV equipment to support instruction.
Use multiple online platforms to monitor attendance, post grades, and deliver content.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• At least one of the following:
o 1+ year(s) experience supporting/providing instruction to secondary and/or adult students
o 48 semester hours of post-secondary education from an accredited college or university
o An Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university
o A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and facilitate positive relationships
• Permanent US work authorization
• Bilingual preferred
Compensation
This is an hourly position with benefits. Hourly pay rate is $20 - $25 based on experience. Colorado High School offers a comprehensive benefits package.
