The Cherry Creek Academy’s Board of Directors seeks an experienced leader and passionate educator with a proven track record of creative and innovative leadership to fully embrace the school’s mission and serve as their next Executive Director

The Board expects the selected individual to assume the responsibilities of the position on or about July 1, 2025. 

Cherry Creek Academy’s Mission 

Cherry Creek Academy (CCA) is an academically rigorous public charter school serving students from kindergarten through eighth grade. Established in 1995, CCA is a stable and high performing school with a diverse student body, well-rounded athletic programming, Enrichment options, and a stellar reputation in the community. CCA is a Core Knowledge charter school with motivated students and responsible parents working together with exemplary teachers to provide excellent education in an environment that upholds the high expectations and values of leadership, responsibility, respect, loyalty, integrity, humility, diligence and compassion. We expect our students, staff, and executive leadership to not only exemplify but embody these values throughout their actions and decisions.

The Qualifications 

To be considered for the position, a candidate must be a proven leader with a track record of demonstrated results. Specifically, the Board of Directors is searching for a leader who is fully committed to upholding the CCA mission and values and possesses the following characteristics: 

  • Experience leading an academically strong, high-performing school 
  • Five years of relevant job experience (school or educational administration) 
  • Advanced degree in education administration or related field 
  • A Colorado Principal or Administrator License or proven eligibility for the credential
Leadership 
  • Ability to effectively build relationships and collaborate with the Board of Directors, 
  • administrators, staff, parents, and school district administrators 
  • Commitment to the continued growth and innovative success at Cherry Creek Academy 
  • Ability to enhance and implement a strategic plan based on the Academy’s mission and 
  • values 
  • Commitment to Core Knowledge and supporting faculty with rigorous curricula for high 
  • achieving students 
Personal 
  • Effective and articulate communication skills 
  • Models high character and humility through an approachable demeanor
  • Exhibits a strong moral compass and integrity 
  • Ability to listen and learn in the decision-making process 
  • Detail oriented with excellent judgment and emotional intelligence 
  • Reinforce a culture of accountability 
Communication 
  • Effective at conflict resolution with a variety of stakeholders 
  • Ability to develop a shared vision and build consensus with stakeholders 
  • Experienced in navigating complex interpersonal issues 
Organizational Oversight 
  • Ability to manage the daily business of the school 
  • Strong understanding of financial sustainability and budget development 
  • Executing needs assessment and strategies for facility and infrastructure maintenance 
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, retain, motivate, and support excellent faculty and staff 
  • Understanding of Colorado charter school laws, policies, practices, and challenges 
  • Ensures accountability and compliance with all CCA policies and procedures for all staff and students 
  • Proven experience with grant writing

Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000
