Starting Salary Scale: $190,000-$220,000

Purpose of Job:

 

The GOAL CEO is responsible for developing, coordinating, and supervising school-wide operations and is charged with organizational operation and leadership. The CEO is also responsible for upholding and promoting the school's mission and vision and is the primary link between the school and its authorizing district.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

Education:

  • A master’s degree in Education or a closely related field, such as MAT, MAEd, MSEd, Special Education, or Curriculum and Instruction, is required. 

  • An Administrator or Principal’s License is required. If the License is from another state, the candidate must be able to obtain a Colorado license within 6 months of the start date.

 

Experience: 

  • Ten years of administrative leadership experience in education, including at least 3 years of leadership experience working with schools that serve high-risk students

  • Five years of teaching experience is required

  • Experience in overseeing a large-scale budget of $10M or more

  • Experience in working with and reporting to a Board

  • Experience in legislative advocacy at a local, state, or national level

Demonstrated knowledge, skills, or ability in the following areas: 

  • Advanced knowledge in the field of education, including educational systems, practices, and the academic basis for such

  • Advanced knowledge of different learning styles and challenges and the ability to apply them to learners in an online learning environment with site support services

  • Knowledge of finance and accounting principles

  • Ability to manage a large multi-site organization

  • Knowledge of charter schools and a preference will be given to those with knowledge of charter school regulations in Colorado

  • Knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and its impact on school information and records

  • Knowledge of the school Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) or similar plans and ability to manage milestones and drivers toward successful execution

  • Ability to identify appropriate learning environments for at-risk students 

  • Ability to grow and manage a team of employees who are committed to the mission of the organization

  • Ability to show continuous improvement in both academic and team professional development 

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to speak to large and small groups of people and draft documents for a wide variety of audiences

 

Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNICATION

 
  • Foster strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and the broader community to create a supportive and inclusive school environment 

  • Knowledge of the Flippen training model and Capturing Kids Hearts, as well as the implementation of the programs in creating a positive and inclusive school culture 

  • Actively listen to the needs of students and parents to ensure students’ growth and education are paramount

  • Network with legislators and state leaders to ensure the regulatory environment furthers the diverse needs of all GOAL students

 

MANAGEMENT

 
  • Develop, with the Board of Directors (BOD), and execute a strategic plan that supports the expansion and sustainability of the school, increasing enrollment and improving retention rates of both students and staff

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws as well as charter contracts, policies, and other obligations

  • Oversee all functions and locations, ensuring they operate effectively and with a primary focus on student learning

  • Create direction, leadership, and vision for the school, ensuring alignment with the school vision, mission, and goals and complying with directives from the BOD

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety and wellness protocols that prioritize the physical and mental well-being of students and staff

  • Launch initiatives such as student leadership programs and community service projects to foster a positive and inclusive school culture

 

INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP

 
  • Foster student academic excellence and holistic development through cutting-edge educational practices and high-quality, inclusive instruction

  • Apply current principles of education to design and update the curriculum, integrating the latest educational research and technology to enhance learning outcomes

  • Create and foster a positive and inclusive school culture by involving school staff, community leaders, students, and parents in school initiatives and activities

  • Oversee the selection of a diverse team of instructional personnel who can most effectively teach and mentor students and who are enthusiastic about education and can meet professional goals

FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT

 
  • Oversee the financial health of the school, ensuring that financial processes are in place to effectively evaluate financial issues and correct financial problems before they become major

  • Ensure that no activities or processes are created that conflict with the established goals, mission, and vision of GOAL Academy

  • Well-versed in conflict-resolution skills with an ability to mediate conflicts (e.g., between students, staff, parents, or community members) while promoting the core values of GOAL effectively among all stakeholders
