AXIS International Academy is a PreK-6th Grade charter school offering Core Knowledge curricula through language immersion. All students learn Spanish, Chinese, or French half of the day.

Requirements
Position Responsibilities:
  • Assist the classroom teacher with implementing instruction and reinforcing learning skills in one-on-one, small, and/or large student groups. Implement and support the teacher’s instruction plan.
  • Provide conditions for a positive and caring learning environment.
  • Assist teacher in preparing classroom materials, administering tests, grading, taking attendance, completing paperwork, maintaining files, and/or documenting student achievement.
  • Select and use behavioral techniques and methods appropriate to student’s circumstances. Utilize a positive behavior model in monitoring behavior.
  • Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
  • Attend appropriate in-services, building meetings, training, parent conferences, and/or school functions.
  • Performs any additional duties as assigned, which are consistent with the effective and orderly operation of this position, and the school-wide educational goals.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred but not required
  • Bilingual (English and French) skills preferred
  • Experience working with students in a school setting preferred
  • Proven willingness and ability to collaborate with a diverse community of colleagues, parents/guardians and community
