Take Action

Shaping the Future of Public Schools

The League's Act for Charters Today (ACT) Advocacy Network is the group and process through which we activate and engage our public charter school families, parents, students and staff for the common good. This action-oriented network strives to build knowledge, skills and power to strengthen and support charter schools throughout the state.

Our advocacy efforts are focused on state policies and district initiatives that ensure all Colorado children deserve access to high-quality public school options, including charter schools. Build your charter school knowledge and advocacy skills while taking part in a powerful and influential community statewide that intercedes on behalf of our schools and, more importantly, our students. We’ll give you everything you need to make taking action for charters quick and easy!

Attend or Host a Training

We regularly offer free trainings to help interested individuals develop the knowledge and skills required to be an effective advocate in their communities and beyond. Topics include: Charter School Basics, Effective Advocacy Methods, How Elections Impact Schools, and more! Training opportunities are shared through the ACT newsletter. We can also offer tailored options for your community — either in-person or virtually. Reach out to learn more

Spread the Word

Help us grow the ACT network! This one-pager has everything you need to share ACT with others in your community, including newsletter blurb, social media post and QR code.

Get Started Today

1. Join the Act for Charters Today (ACT) network

The easiest way to get started is by joining our ACT email list. By doing so, you join a select cohort of charter school staff, students, families and supporters who use their voice to advocate for choice. Once a month from August through May, we’ll send a brief newsletter with advocacy, training and event opportunities. Available in both English and Spanish. Join now.

2. Share your charter school story.

Charter schools and students are doing extraordinary things every day! Whether you're a parent, teacher, staff, alumni, or community member, your unique story on the importance of charter schools can help us change the narrative. Your story matters

3. Contact your policy maker.

Educating our legislature at the Capital takes time and effort. While we work hard behind the scenes under the golden dome, policy makers must also hear the personal accounts of and support for charters. Find your legislator.
