GALS Overview
GALS is an all-girls (inclusive), public charter school serving 275 students in 6th-8th grades. GALS empowers students to succeed academically, lead confidently, live boldly, and thrive physically. GALS provides an innovative and necessary educational option that incorporates health and wellness education to optimize academic achievement, focusing on identity development. The school follows standards-based practices and classes incorporate an inquiry-based approach to learning, and integration of movement in academic programming.
About the Position:
We are seeking qualified teachers to specialize in content-based instruction. This includes overall planning, coordination and delivery of a highly rigorous curriculum, and using inclusive practices in the classroom. It also includes delivering long term plans, creating daily lesson plans aligned to GALS instructional expectations, and prepping for all curricular materials. The teacher will also be responsible for maintaining and managing their classrooms and supporting students and peers in multiple ways. This means providing a safe environment conducive to learning, using exemplary classroom management practices, and building healthy relationships with students. Being a part of the GALS Team also includes movement based learning, leveraging internal and external relations, collaborating with teammates to operationalize the philosophy of GALS, and showing a flexible and growth-oriented mindset.

● Bachelor’s Degree in content Area, education or related field
● Valid Driver’s license and driving record that allows candidate to be covered by GALS insurance ● Urban school experience and experience with diverse communities preferred
● Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Salary and Application Process:
Full Time exempt position, following our teacher pay scale and benefits, with starting pay based on years of relevant experience. The salary for this position is $50,840.00 annually to $99,618.00 annually.

Hours:
School hours are 8:00 am- 4:30 pm, with some flexibility; some evening events required throughout the school year. Approximately 186 Workdays per year.
