Our purpose is to provide a rigorously academic education using the full Core
Knowledge Sequence and curriculum. In addition to academics, we educate students in

The teacher will work closely with colleagues, parents, and students to foster a
collaborative school environment. Lincoln Academy is a school where students and

Though it is impossible to list all roles the teacher will fill, specific job requirements
include:
  • Provides an organized, and learning-conducive environment to ensure that students are encouraged to be productive, focused, and engaged in learning.
  • Maintains detailed records that include assessment results, progress, school performance, and feedback; provides ongoing communication and feedback on the student’s progress to all appropriate parties.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all records and conversations regarding students’academic accomplishments and struggles.
  • Designs and delivers individual lesson plans in one or more academic subjects using a variety of teaching techniques and appealing to various learning styles.
  • Create and comply with IEP and 504 accommodations
  • Discusses academic difficulties or behavioral problems with students as they arise and escalates as necessary to the appropriate individuals.
  • Communicates progress and concerns with tact and professionalism to parents and, as appropriate, other faculty, staff, and/or principal.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with parents, staff and students.
  • Maintains required paperwork for individual student files, attendance and incident reports, and other necessary records.
  • Participates in faculty meetings, educational conferences, in-service opportunities, workshops, and other training seminars.
  • Maintains knowledge of research, developments, and best practices in secondary education. Including but not limited to project based learning and student led learning environments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing a strong classroom culture with consistent routines and procedures
  • Develop strong working relationships with students and support a joyful culture
  • Participate in department, school, and parent meetings, including teacher coaching cycles
  • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds
  • Belief in maintaining the bar of educational equity for learners at every ability level

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (education degree preferred)
  • Meet Highly Qualified status (or meet by August 2026)
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
