Mountain Phoenix Community School is accepting applications for
Extended School Day Early Childhood Assistant for the 2025-26 school year.
Mountain Phoenix Community school is currently seeking a part time assistant for our Early Childhood Program. Mountain Phoenix Community School is a Jefferson County charter school, guided by the core principles of public Waldorf Education. We are located on a beautiful 5 acre campus in Wheat Ridge, CO. We delight in working with head, heart and hands in a developmentally appropriate manner which honors the unique unfolding of every child. Our days are spent wondering at the marvels of nature, working and playing to our hearts content and joyfully partaking in the mysteries of life. In our Early Childhood program, there are no desks or worksheets, just a homey, family-like environment, where we seek to nurture the young child. All employees of the school will be employed on an at-will basis and will meet fingerprinting and background check requirements.
Current Position Expectations
- Work with children 4 to 7 years old
- Provide a warm and nurturing environment in the classroom you are working in
- Help supervise the children when they are in your care, help oversee the children in their work and step in if the Lead Teacher needs support
- Always model a positive attitude and help redirect positive behavior when being asked.
- All candidates must be warm, nurturing, kind, enthusiastic, patient, and creative
- Experience with the Waldorf method is preferred, but not required
- The compensation will be based on education and experience
