Organization purpose
Montessori del Mundo (MdM) is a public Dual-Language Montessori charter school in Aurora CO. MdM follows the Montessori philosophy and curriculum and uses a research-based dual language model with the goal of bilingualism and biliteracy for all students. Academic instruction is in Spanish and English to prepare students for the future bilingual world.
Accountabilities and Expectations
Developing, refining, and documenting a creativity curriculum and programming for K - 8th grades that incorporates music, dance, storytelling, and drama based on NAfME’s standards of creating, performing, and responding
Establishing and maintaining the physical environment, including material storage and accessibility
Providing instruction in knowledge and skill,s including harmony, music appreciation, dance, theater, storytelling, and performanc,e utilizing various literature appropriate for the ages and skill levels of students
Adapting the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual, musical, and movement abilities
Instructing students in the proper care and use of tools and instruments
Observing and analyzing student performance, knowledge, and understanding to support planning and delivering appropriate instruction
Submitting student progress reports and other required paperwork on time
Developing a positive, productive classroom culture leading to normalization
Collaborating with grade-level coordinators, wellness team, and classroom guides for special events and performances.
Investing in families by building and maintaining positive relationships with parents
Supervising students and ensuring their safety
Supporting daily operations with regularly scheduled morning, midday, and/or dismissal duties
Maintaining school-owned music, musical instruments, and equipment to prevent loss or abuse
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree and a passing score on MUSC, THEATER, OR ELEMENTARY PRAXIS
1 year of experience teaching music, movement, or creative performance in an elementary school setting
Bilingual - Native or native-like fluency in Spanish AND English, ability to provide instruction, communicate with parents, and participate in staff meetings in both languages.
Preferred:
Previous experience teaching in a public Montessori setting
3+ years of teaching experience in a public school setting and/or in a Dual Language program
Experience working with State Standards

Working conditions
This position will require the employee to move about the classroom and building regularly including climbing stairs, getting up and down from the floor, walking on uneven surfaces (playground), and may involve sitting or standing for extended periods. There are occasions when you may be required to be outside for a short period in inclement weather. This position requires some flexibility to attend occasional events on evenings and/or weekends throughout the year in support of the community.
Physical requirements
This position will require sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and occasional climbing on stools. Candidates must be able to navigate stairs and lift up to 20lbs

Salary
The full-time starting salary range for this position is $44,000 - $57,000 annually depending on education and experience. This is a part-time position, the salary will be prorated accordingly.
