SUMMARY
Creating a flexible grade level program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establishing effective rapport with students; motivating students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for preparation for college, vocational school or acquiring employment, in accordance with each student’s ability; and establishing good relationships with parents and with other staff members


Additional Duties
 
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal, Executive Director, and Union Colony Schools Board of Directors.
  • Union Colony Schools use, Faculty Council, a site based decision making model. The certified teacher must be able to work in a cooperative team effort with adults and contribute to the total school climate. Each member of the Faculty Council is expected to attend all scheduled meetings as per employment contracts.
  • Extra-curricular assignments could include coaching, sponsorship, and/or supervision of clubs/activities.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
  • Bachelor's degree plus additional coursework required for certification or licensure.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS
 
  • Colorado Department of Education Teacher License
  • ESL endorsement; as applicable
  • READ ACT certification; applies only to K-3, intervention, and CLD staff
