We are seeking a full-time in-house substitute teacher. This full-time in-house substitute teacher has the
primary responsibility for delivering specific grade-level instruction in the classroom while maintaining a safe, caring, and orderly environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow the teacher's written lesson plans
- Create a positive learning environment
- Ensure that the goals of the plans are met
- Consult with the principal and/or staff to resolve questions and/or concerns
- Comply with all building procedures and schedules
- Prepare a written summary of work completed and any special notes
- Implement effective management procedures, maintain high expectations and uphold the student conduct code
- Manage student behavior by establishing and holding students accountable to school rules and procedures
- Work cooperatively with other teachers
- Uphold computer technology acceptable use policies
- Build a working knowledge of the curriculum
- Maintain the confidentiality of privileged information
- Take precautions to ensure staff/student safety
- Provide appropriate and consistent supervision
- Report evidence of suspected child abuse as required by law
- Supervise non-classroom duties when assigned
- Accepts personal responsibility for decisions and conduct
- Develop appropriate student relationships and serve as a positive role model for others
- As needed, subbing in a long term position. If planning is required, a stipend will be added.
- Performs other specific job-related duties as directed
- CDE substitute license or teaching license
