Lincoln Academy Charter School, a Jefferson County Public Charter school, dedicated

to Core Knowledge principles, is seeking a science teacher for the 2025-2026 school

year.

Our purpose is to provide a rigorously academic education using the full Core

Knowledge Sequence and curriculum. In addition to academics, we educate students in

our Core Values of respect, honesty, integrity, excellence, perseverance, and teamwork.

The science teacher is primarily responsible for planning and delivering the specific

grade level educational program in the classroom and being an active faculty member

dedicated to student achievement. The teacher will work closely with colleagues,

parents, and students to foster a collaborative school environment. Lincoln Academy is

a school where students and families are supported while maintaining high expectations

for all. Applicants should be committed to fully embracing the school’s methodology

(knowledge-based schooling) and upholding the high expectations of Lincoln Academy.

Though it is impossible to list all roles the teacher will fill, specific job requirements

include:

● Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate

active learning

● Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing a strong classroom

culture with consistent routines and procedures

● Develop strong working relationships with students and support a joyful culture

● Maintain the educational bar of equity with high expectations for all scholars

● Work collaboratively with specialist teachers, special education teachers,

educational assistants, and administration.

● Participate in department, school, and parent meetings, including teacher

coaching cycles

● Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural,

economic, and ability backgrounds

● Belief in maintaining the bar of educational equity for learners at every ability

level

● Demonstrate professionalism and integrity

● Strong critical thinking skills and strategic problem-solving skills

● Commitment to professional growth and personal development


Minimum Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s Degree (education degree preferred)

● Meet Highly Qualified status (or meet by August 2027)

● High level of oral and written communication skills
