Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Event Sales/Success Specialist to join our team starting in Aug. or Sept. 2025. The Specialist will be responsible for identifying, recruiting, and managing partners for two major in-person conferences, including our Annual Conference in Denver, which hosts over 1,000 attendees and 100+ vendors. This role involves proactive outreach, relationship-building, and overseeing the full sales cycle—from initial contact and pitch to contract execution and logistical coordination to ensure that each and every vendor has a successful interaction with the League.

The contractor will assist with vendor onboarding, communication, and customer success before and after the events to ensure a seamless and professional experience. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong sales acumen, and a keen eye for detail, along with the ability to track leads, hit sales targets, and work collaboratively within a fast-paced events team. Outside of peak event periods, the contractor will support member engagement with schools, maintain CRM data, and contribute to sales materials, research, and internal process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and recruit potential vendors for two major conferences, including our annual event in Denver with over 100 vendor spaces.
  • Research and develop new vendor prospects through industry outreach or networking.
Manage the full sales pipeline, from lead generation to product execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and returning vendors to foster long-term engagement and retention.
  • Ensure all vendor spaces are sold and curated to align with event goals, audience interests, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the internal event planning team to align vendor needs with venue logistics, booth placements, and on-site support.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by being the primary point of contact for vendors, assisting with onboarding, logistics, and real-time support before, during, and after each event.
  • Track and report on vendor sales performance, occupancy rates, revenue generation, and feedback to inform future strategy and improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales, business development, or vendor recruitment, ideally within the events, hospitality, or trade show industries.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and close deals effectively.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and timelines.
  • Familiarity with event planning and vendor management software is a plus.
  • Flexible availability to accommodate peak sales periods, meetings, and event dates.

Deliverables:

  • Build and maintain a robust prospect list of at least 500 new vendor leads who have not been contacted in prior event cycles.
  • Generate at least 25 new vendor sales (not sold within the past three years), contributing a minimum of $100,000 in total revenue across the two contracted events.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date tracking of all sales activities, communications, and contract status in the designated CRM or sales tracking tool.
  • Comfortably provide bi-weekly progress updates to the internal team, including pipeline status, closed deals, and any support needed to achieve goals.
  • Ensure all contracted vendors are properly onboarded and supported in alignment with event standards and timelines.

Contract Duration:

  • Ideal Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Duration: Ongoing
  • The position will average 40 hours per week, with the expectation of additional hours during event weeks to accommodate on-site support, vendor coordination, and real-time needs.

Compensation:

  • For Building a list of NEW and for other duties as assigned: Hourly: at $30/hour
  • Commission: Year-end bonus based on the overall sales goal.
