Education & Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Current Colorado Teaching License required


Experience

  • Successful completion of student teaching assignment

  • Previous teaching experience in subject area and/or grade level desirable

  • Knowledge of content and teaching methods

  • Understanding of students’ developmental needs

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships

Teacher Responsibilities

Instruction:

  • Plan and implement instruction aligned with BFA’s curriculum

  • Assess student abilities using formal and informal methods

  • Use class time effectively

  • Apply teaching principles to enhance student achievement

  • Use appropriate teaching methods for objectives and learners

  • Communicate effectively with students

  • Maintain student engagement and facilitate smooth transitions

  • Use evaluations to measure instructional effectiveness

  • Communicate student progress to students and guardians

  • Begin and continue instruction through the full period

  • Use assessment data to differentiate instruction

Learning Environment & Management:

  • Maintain student records

  • Stay organized and task-focused

  • Set and uphold clear behavior expectations

  • Encourage student participation and performance

  • Maintain respectful, supportive, and positive interactions with students

  • Enforce the dress code and code of conduct

Professional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in professional development

  • Contribute to problem-solving and goal setting

  • Collaborate with staff to meet school-wide objectives

  • Ensure student health and safety

  • Maintain communication with families

  • Follow staff handbook and BFA policies

  • Dress professionally and demonstrate a positive attitude

General:

  • Promptly fulfill responsibilities and duties

  • Follow Board policies and administrative procedures

Environmental Demands

  • Frequent lifting (up to 35 lbs)

  • Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs)

  • Constant standing and walking

  • Frequent squatting, reaching, and stooping


Compensation

  • 180 teacher workdays for the 2025–2026 school year
