Tools (besides Excel)for budgeting

Currently we use SDS for the financials for our schools. We use excel for the budgeting piece. We would like to see what others are using for the budgeting piece for their schools besides excel.

Thanks for the comments. I do appreciate the input. I like you Andrea use the excel for the budget piece and then I put it into SDS. I was just hoping there was something fun out there that I didn't know about.

We use Excel for budgeting ... we explored Centage's Planning Maestro and Oracle's Planning and Budgeting tools but found them both to be too expensive. They each had great implementation support processes and nifty assumption tools, but the juice just wasn't worth the squeeze, so to speak

I use AptaFund accounting software. There is a budgeting tool included but I prefer to use Excel since I have several tabs that link to one another.

SDS is Specialized Data Systems aka Linq. It is a financial software.

Good Morning,
We are the same. We use SDS for financial reporting and excel/googledocs for our ongoing budgeting needs. Once the budget is final (July 1) or modified (Jan 30), we do put it into SDS. So far this has worked for us as the budget document is a "live" document whereas in SDS it is final, if that makes sense. Best of luck and I would love to hear what others are doing as well.
