Request for Information: Sharing Employer Contributions

    Hello all!

I am wondering if others might be open to sharing what their employer contributions for employee and dependent medical insurance look like. We currently contribute a percentage as an employer which increases as the number of years an employee has been with us increases and ranges from 75-90% for employee and 0-70% for dependents. We are also currently in a level funded plan, having switched to LF after many years in fully funded.

With continuously increasing premium costs, we realize our current model is not sustainable. We are considering other options, including a monthly contribution that is the same for each employee who is benefits-eligible and/or purchasing a basic high-deductible plan for each employee and offering them the option to pay an additional amount for an enhanced plan.

I would love to hear how others approach medical insurance for staff if anyone is open to sharing!

    Many thanks in advance,
    Jennifer

Hi Jennifer. We pay 100% of a base plan (higher deductible) for all employees that choose insurance coverage. We offer employee only for our health insurance. We do offer other plans with a lower deductible and our employees pay the cost difference each month.
