A cohort geared towards communications staff, marketing teams, registrars and school leaders. Meets monthly.
Thanks to everyone who joined our March 13 CONNECT Virtual Office Hours! This open-format session gave members a chance to ask questions, share challenges, and exchange ideas on school marketing, communications, and enrollment.
One of the biggest discussion points was HB-21-1110 and digital accessibility compliance, with many members looking for guidance on how to prepare before the July 1, 2025 deadline.
Key takeaways included:
✅ Prioritize public-facing content – Start with high-visibility materials like school websites, newsletters, and board minutes, then work toward internal documents.
✅ Post an accessibility statement – Schools should publicly acknowledge their commitment to accessibility and outline steps being taken to comply with HB-21-1110.
✅ Compliance is a process – Full compliance isn’t required by July 1, 2025, but schools must demonstrate progress through documented efforts and updates.
✅ Tools and platforms matter – Some schools are adopting new website/content management solutions to improve accessibility like Apptegy’s Thrillshare and Engage programs.
✅ Third-party materials need attention – Flyers, PDFs, and other external documents should be converted or recreated in accessible formats when possible.
