Executive Director, Collaborative for Exceptional Education
Kaci Coats received her BA from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas, and her MA in Special Education Administration and Educational Leadership from the University of Northern Colorado. Kaci taught and led special education for eight years in Youth Corrections and Public Charter Schools and then led the Student Services department for a network of 11 schools as the Senior Director of Student Services at STRIVE Prep, Denver. In this role she managed a team of experts to develop network programming in the areas of Special Education, Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS), English Language Development, Mental Health, and Gifted and Talented. In her role as Director of Student Services at Colorado League of Charter Schools for the past 4 years, Kaci Coats has developed extensive experience in working with schools and districts across the state of Colorado to build and assess both academic and behavioral tiered support structures through school reviews, school coaching and professional development, and school/district/state policy review and advocacy.Vice President of Policy, CLCS Action
Prateek Dutta is a K-12 education leader with extensive experience in district, state, and federal policy, as well as direct engagement with students and families. Prateek grew up in Colorado and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado (Go Bears!) before teaching in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He later earned a doctorate in Education Leadership.
Returning to Colorado, Prateek has spent the past decade driving policy and advocacy efforts that have significantly impacted the education landscape. He has been instrumental in passing legislation to expand access to rigorous courses for low-income students, secure increased funding for school counselors to boost FAFSA completion rates, and protect public school choice for students across the state, including access to high quality charter schools.
Director of Grassroots Advocacy, CLCS Action
Anne joined the Colorado League of Charter Schools as Director of Grassroots Advocacy, bringing a wealth of experience in criminal justice, organizational leadership, and community engagement. Originally from Côte d'Ivoire, she has lived in Aurora, Colorado, since 2001. Her career spans roles with the 18th Judicial District Attorney's Office and Arapahoe County Juvenile Probation Department, where she worked with both juveniles and adults, focusing on risk management, conflict resolution, and social program effectiveness.
A passionate advocate for educational equity, Anne is an active member of the African Leadership Group (ALG, USA), where she speaks on the importance of equal education in Colorado. She has testified before the Colorado Board of Education, addressed advocacy organizations, and led workshops for parents and education stakeholders.
Anne holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Colorado Denver, a Master’s in Criminal Justice from Colorado Technical University, and a Doctorate in Management with a minor in Criminal Justice. In her free time, she enjoys exploring Colorado’s mountains and cherishing time with her family.
