Reports to: Elementary Principal
Overall Purpose:
The Instructional Coach is essential for accelerating student growth in all core content areas. Coaches provide professional development in standards-based planning and implementation, analyze student work, and engage in coaching cycles with teachers. They work closely with teachers and principals through planning, modeling, co-teaching, reflecting, and providing feedback
Responsibilities:
- Support student achievement by aiding teachers in the classroom.
- Attend district professional learning sessions.
- Focus on coaching to enhance student growth and performance.
- Understand and apply the Teaching/Learning Cycle throughout the school.
- School Assessment Coordinator as determined by the Principal.
Coaching:
- Collaborate with administration to improve student achievement.
- Coach teachers through planning, implementation, and analysis.
- Foster professional conversation and reflective thinking.
- Utilize the Teaching/Learning Cycle and gradual release of responsibility.
- Collaborate with teachers to assess learning needs and develop instructional plans.
- Lead planning for rigorous and content-rich curriculum.
- Share coaching logs to monitor progress.
- Support new teachers effectively through the district induction program.
- Support implementation of curriculum, standards, and school initiatives
- Observe classrooms and provide non-evaluative, growth-focused feedback
- Model effective instructional strategies, classroom management, and differentiation
- Support teachers in using student data to inform instruction and interventions
- Assist teachers with strategies for diverse learners, including intervention, enrichment, and accommodations
- Use data to provide meaningful feedback and adjust instruction to meet student needs
- Monitor student growth and progress, adapt support strategies as needed, and maintain accurate documentation related to students' academic, social, and emotional development
- Attend work and arrive on time
- Perform other duties as assigned
Leadership and Professional Development:
- Provide instructional leadership for integrated thinking and decision-making.
- Stay updated with literacy, math, differentiation and ESL best practices and standards.
- Apply facilitation skills to support adult learners.
- Develop and coordinate professional learning sessions in conjunction with the ILT team.
- Ensure a rigorous, content-rich education for all students.
- Collaborate with administration to identify instructional priorities and schoolwide needs
- Facilitate and actively participate in building PLCs/teams and provide research, tools, and resources to support school MTSS and other student support initiatives aimed at improving student outcomes
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage time and multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of effective instructional strategies in literacy, math, and differentiation.
- Experience in school leadership positions.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Knowledge of adult learning and facilitation skills.
- Basic computing skills and technology integration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters in Literacy
- ELD Certification/Endorsement
- Into Math training
- Into Reading and Into Literature training
- Understanding of Core Knowledge Curriculum
- Experience coaching classroom teachers
- Cognitive Coaching
- Understanding and support of PLC work

Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education is required. Completed Elementary PLACE or Praxis II required. 2-3 years of elementary teaching experience is preferred. Prior experience teaching with Core Knowledge is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Current Colorado-certified teaching license with an Elementary endorsement or ability to obtain Colorado license is required.
