About High Rockies Community School

High Rockies Community School (HRCS) is a small, public charter school rooted in place-based, outdoor, and community-centered learning. We believe that the mountains, forests, and rivers of Park County are our greatest classrooms — and that learning comes alive when students are connected to the land, people, and stories around them.

At HRCS, students build academic mastery through interdisciplinary study, outdoor exploration, and real-world problem solving. Our values — connection, curiosity, stewardship, and community — guide everything we do, from daily outdoor active time to service learning and family partnerships. HRCS opened its first campus at Sacramento Creek Ranch in Fairplay and plans to expand thoughtfully into other small mountain communities over the next several years.

Role Overview

The Growth Director will help bring this mission to more communities by leading HRCS’s expansion and partnership work. Equal parts relationship-builder, researcher, and connector, the Growth Director will collaborate closely with the Executive Director, community partners, and local leaders to grow schools that reflect the strengths and spirit of each community they serve.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Partnerships: Build authentic relationships with families, educators, and local organizations. Attend and host community events that align HRCS’s mission with local needs. Identify potential leaders and partners for new school sites.

Site Research & Development: Scout potential facility sites and support the charter replication process. Prepare materials, coordinate with authorizers, and assist with facility planning and feasibility studies.

Funding & Resource Development: Assist with grants and fundraising efforts that support HRCS’s mission, including identifying new funding opportunities and managing relationship tracking.

Network-Level Support: Maintain updates to HRCS’s website and social media presence, coordinate board logistics, and support system-building across the growing HRCS network.
