Rural School Leader Cohort

Hi Everyone,
Hope you're doing well. We will have our second Rural Leader Cohort meeting this Tuesday at 9am. In our last meeting, we were able to connect and share a bit about some of our current challenges, including some pressing issues. It was great to have the chance to share and get ideas and feedback from others who may have been through similar experiences.

We talked about focusing on some financial topics for our second meeting. I'd like to propose a a pretty wide agenda item and would be happy to add a few more from anyone in the group as well:
- Fund Balances: What are they, where does your school keep its money, and what does your fund balance policy look like. Whether your just learning about managing your school's fund balance or you've been looking at developing a maintenance policy for your fund balance with your board, these are interesting and unique components to schools that everyone can benefit from learning and sharing with others. At the end of the day, having the right sized fund balance can have huge implications about how you're serving your current students, securing loans with better interest rates, and preparing for potential hazards.
