    November Meeting Reminder: Facility Grants

A reminder that our next cohort meeting is coming up on Thursday, November 20 from 10:30am - 12:00pm.

    Topic: Facility Grants

    Guest Speakers:
1/ Paola Paga, Director of Charter Schools for CDE
She’ll share an overview of the State Charter School Facilities Incentive Grants (SFIG) Program, which provides federal funds to help states improve charter school facilities programs.

2/ Brandon LaChance, Regional Program Manager for CDE
He’ll give an update on the Building Excellent Schools Today (BEST) Program, which offers competitive grants for new construction and facility improvements.

3/ Rainey Wikstrom, School Wellness, CLCS
She’ll share insights on the connection between food, learning, and facilities—why kitchen spaces often get overlooked in planning, and what schools should keep in mind before scaling back food service capacity.
