About Parker Performing Arts School
Parker Performing Arts School will prepare students for future success through rigorous and innovative academic instruction and meaningful engagement in the performing arts. PPAS students will have the opportunity to participate in performing arts classes as a regular part of each school day. Performing arts classes will be offered in the disciplines of dance, instrumental music, vocal music, drama, and musical theatre. To create an exciting and enriching learning atmosphere, PPAS will utilize a blended learning environment and will provide an iPad for every student. This engaging one-to-one iPad environment will enable PPAS to utilize innovative and data-driven digital curriculum for the core subjects, as well as incorporate dynamic technology resources to enhance the way students engage in the performing arts. Starting in August 2016, PPAS will open with 525 students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade. Grades K-4 will open with 75 students each, grades 5-6 will open with 50 students each, and grades 7-8 will open with 25 students each. PPAS will add classes to grades 5-8 until each grade level includes 75 students each. At full build out, starting in August 2020, PPAS will serve 675 total students in grades K-8.
