Assistant Principal

Nature and Scope of Job

The Assistant Principal’s primary role is coordinating student academic support at Twin Peaks Classical Academy. This position exists for the primary purpose of meeting student and staff needs in order to promote academic achievement for all students. 

Qualifications

  • Master's degree is preferred; BA/BS degree in Education or related field required
  • Principal/administrator license preferred and/or willingness to obtain within three years of accepting position 
  • Minimum of three years teaching experience required 
  • Leadership experience in a school setting preferred   
  • Willingness to obtain continuing education as needed to perform well in the position 
  • Commitment to Twin Peaks Classical Academy’s vision, Core Knowledge, Classical Curriculum and Character Education 
  • Excellent organizational skills and consistency in meeting deadlines 
  • Expert level written and oral communication skills and be able to effectively correspond with stakeholders at all levels

Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with families, staff, and students to support success 
  • Maintain clear communication with families, staff, and students
  • Help create and maintain a positive school climate and culture 
  • Attends school events and serves as building administrator for after school events as necessary
  • Coordinate student plans with a focus on student growth toward academic goals (including but not limited to 504, MTSS, READ, and ALP plans)
  • Assist with progress monitoring and MTSS systems
  • Scheduling
Elementary
  • Assist with Master Schedule
  • Assist with Duty Schedules
  • Assist with Field Trips
Middle School/High School
  • Master Schedule oversight
  • Student scheduling (student interest forms, path to post-secondary goals, individual student schedules, class roster management )
  • Duty Schedules 
  • In consultation with the principal, provide an observation/feedback cycle for direct reports, including mid- and end-of-year evaluations. 
  • Serve as building principal in the absence of principal 
  • Other duties as assigned
