Seeking Guidance on School Expansion and Fundraising Support
Hello everyone,
I’m hoping to get some guidance from fellow schools that have gone through a campus expansion.
We’re currently exploring an expansion of our school on our existing property and would love to hear from anyone who has experience with similar projects—especially around how you approached funding your expansion.
Our board is considering hiring a Chief Development Officer for a two-year term to focus on large-scale fundraising efforts (around $25M). However, we’re still evaluating whether this is the best path forward, as the proposed salary range is $160K–$200K and there’s uncertainty about whether the role would ultimately generate the desired capital funding.
We’re also wondering if any schools have worked with short-term fundraising consultants or firms that specialize in major capital campaign support instead of hiring a full-time position.
Any insights, lessons learned, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
