Our Annual Conference wouldn’t be possible without the energy and dedication of our amazing volunteers! From helping with setup to welcoming attendees and supporting sessions, volunteers make the day run smoothly and create a welcoming experience for everyone.

Eligibility

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and register in advance through the conference volunteer application process. Acceptance as a volunteer is subject to approval based on event needs and available roles.

Volunteer Benefit

Volunteers who commit to and complete a full day of volunteer service will receive a complimentary one-day conference ticket for the opposite day of the event.

  • Example: If a volunteer works on Day 1, they will receive a free ticket to attend Day 2, and vice versa.

  • Complimentary tickets are non-transferable and valid only for the year of service.

Volunteer Responsibilities

Volunteers will be assigned to various roles based on event needs and personal preference when possible. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Announcing and introducing workshop sessions.

  • Scanning attendee badges for entry into workshop rooms.

  • Directing traffic and assisting attendees with wayfinding.

  • Supporting the registration and check-in process.

  • Providing general information and customer service to attendees.

All volunteers are expected to:

  • Arrive on time for their assigned shifts.

  • Wear the designated volunteer identifiers at all times while on duty.

  • Represent the organization and the event in a friendly, professional manner.

  • Notify the volunteer coordinator as soon as possible if they are unable to fulfill their assigned shift.

Training and Supervision

All volunteers will receive an orientation prior to the conference to review responsibilities, schedules, and expectations. A volunteer coordinator or staff member will be available on-site for guidance and support during the event.

Code of Conduct

Volunteers are expected to uphold the same standards of respect, integrity, and professionalism as conference staff and attendees. Failure to comply with volunteer expectations or conduct standards may result in loss of volunteer privileges and/or the complimentary ticket.

By signing up to volunteer, individuals agree to the terms outlined in this policy and acknowledge that they understand the expectations and benefits of participation.
