The Colorado League of Charter Schools offers a variety of services free of charge to member schools including consultative and coaching work, crisis support, advocacy, and training. The School Services group is a major asset to our member and non-member schools alike. Covering areas of Business, Academics, HR & Talent, Board Governance, and Special Education (The Collaborative), this group is your first stop as you operate and grow your school. The League provides members with services, has in-depth consultative services, and provides training in-person, online, and through participation in our events. The League recognizes that charter school staff is working hard to operate their schools at the highest levels of efficiency as possible with funding challenges. The Business Services department gives member schools access to timely resources for compliance, operational and financial support. Charter schools rely on the League’s thought leadership initiatives for consultations, training, guidance and referrals through a strong network of quality partnerships via our trusted partners and Colorado Charter Marketplace multi-vendor directory.
HR and Talent Development
HR and Talent matters can be complex. Thus, charter schools should utilize available resources, including the Colorado League of Charter Schools, to understand their obligations as an employer. We are available to help with HR and Employment issues by reviewing employment manuals, offering resources and general guidance on state and federal regulations. We can also refer schools to attorneys and others that can provide more specialized services.
The League’s Academic Services program provides support to member schools in the areas of accountability, teacher effectiveness, school culture, and leadership practices through innovative professional development, consulting, resources, and services. These opportunities are based on proven practice and are universally applicable to all leaders, teachers and schools, regardless of the model or instructional focus. Our professional development provides charter schools with access to exemplary training for educators and networking opportunities promoting teacher effectiveness and professional growth.
The Collaborative for Exceptional Education
Special Education, Gifted & Talented, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, Mental Health, English Language Learning. The League’s will focus on assisting schools with starting and operating successful programs to meet the diverse needs of the students in their schools through the provision of: Identification and sharing of best practices and trends in district or campus level structures; High-quality professional development, resources, & access to direct coaching and consultation; and Advocacy to change student services policy at authorizer, state, and national levels
Board Governance Trainings
School Board Training is essential to risk management and the success of a school. Board training needs to be prioritized annually to help safeguard the school. To help strengthen charter boards throughout the state, the League offers customized training to your board and school leadership team. Common training subjects include: board roles, financial oversight, board committees, legal responsibilities, external relations, performance management, and strategic planning. Most boards cover one topic per hour in a training session.
