- Upholds CECs beliefs found on the CEC website.
- Develops and administers Science education curriculum consistent with CECs academic philosophy, goals, and objectives.
- Develops lesson plans, instructional materials, and activities to enhance learning and to demonstrate the application of course work to everyday life.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and modifies instructional methods accordingly.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to student and small group learning by ensuring student conduct conforms with CECs Student and Family Handbook and CEC policies.
- Ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Organizes and maintains Infinite Campus (IC) for accurate and complete recordkeeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievements, and daily attendance as required in CEC policies.
- Selects and requisitions appropriate textbooks; instructional aids, supplies, and equipment; and maintains inventory records.
- Collaborates with other CEC staff members and participates in staff meetings and professional development as requested by the Academic Dean.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and keeps informed of current developments in education.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university applicable to the teaching assignment, OR
- Endorsement on a Colorado teaching license, OR
- 36 semester credit hours in the core subject area, OR
- Passing score on a State Board of Education approved content exam (currently the ETS Praxis Series).
