CDE to host the 2024 Landscape of Wellbeing and Belonging Conference on Sept. 18-19
DENVER -- For the third year, the Colorado Department of Education will host its Landscape of Wellbeing and Belonging Conference focused on supporting educators with creating supportive and engaging learning environments for students. The conference will take place in Colorado Springs on Wednesday, Sept. 18, and Thursday, Sept. 19, and while seats are currently full, the department is inviting educators to join the waitlist.
“Even with promising improvement in student attendance rates, more than one in four Colorado students were chronically absent last year. Getting students engaged in their learning in school communities where they feel connected to their teachers and peers is critical to keeping them in class and on track for success,” said Education Commissioner Susana Córdova.
The conference – which was standing room only last year – will include 50 sessions covering topics including social emotional learning, drop-out prevention, building positive school culture and climate, student engagement opportunities, and postsecondary and workforce readiness.
Cordóva said: “Our Landscape Conference Planning Team has been working hard to put together this free learning opportunity for Colorado educators, and we’re looking forward to seeing folks in Colorado Springs in September.”
Organizers say that they are excited by the strong early response from Colorado educators and hope that teachers added to the waitlist will have a chance to attend.
CDE’s Landscape of Wellbeing and Belonging is a virtual resource hub for educators, school leaders, and district staff that provides tools and resources to support well-being and belonging in school communities. The Landscape of Wellbeing and Belonging Conference will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Colorado Springs on Sept. 18 and Sept. 19. Conference registration is closed but interested educators can sign up for the waitlist.
