Education and Experience

1. Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsement(s) preferred
2. 2 years teaching experience preferred
3.  Knowledge of and commitment to Core Knowledge and Classical Education
4. Demonstrated experience in effectively solving challenging problems through a positive, collaborative approach

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for conducting an organized and professional classroom
2. Develops content, format, structure and schedule
3. Collaborate with other faculty in delivery of appropriate instructional approaches
4. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying learning styles and needs
5. Communicates professionally and regularly with students, families, and colleagues concerning student academic and behavioral progress
6. Attend and participate in all department meetings
7. Develop a collegial relationship with parents, students, and staff
8. Maintains a discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students in accordance with Twin Peaks Classical Academy’s protocols
9.  Facilitate resolution of problems as necessary
10.  Show empathy and understanding of Twin Peaks Classical Academy’s students
11. Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Ability to understand diverse learning needs, second language learning and special education modifications
2. A belief that all students are capable of learning
3. Knowledge of behavior and classroom management techniques
4. Ability to set high standards and achieve them
5. Ability to openly communicate with students, parents, staff and community members
6.  Enthusiasm to ensure student engagement
7. Ability to be part of and work with a team
