Overview
Platte River Academy, a K-8 Core Knowledge charter school in Highlands Ranch, is currently seeking an engaging and enthusiastic 5th Grade Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
Platte River Academy maintains high expectations for its students and teachers. We are in search of a qualified elementary teacher who is passionate about supporting all learners’ academic growth by providing a content-rich education in a caring and cooperative classroom.
Responsibilities — Duties include but are not limited to:
- Plan and prepare daily lessons consistent with Platte River Academy’s instructional framework, aligned with Core Knowledge Foundation standards, and district & state requirements.
- Implement all Platte River Academy 5th Grade curricula with fidelity and engagement through a departmentalized model with a focus on math and science.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive classroom that supports learning while reflecting the Leader in Me program, woven into PRA’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, and Compassion.
- Regularly assess student progress, grade assignments (including tests and quizzes), and maintain accurate academic records using school software.
- Foster students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills while encouraging cultural literacy and technology proficiency.
- Maintain professional and proactive communication with parents, colleagues, and administration regarding student behavioral and academic progress through strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Foster a collaborative professional culture by encouraging ongoing dialogue about teaching strategies, student progress, and classroom challenges.
- Demonstrate solid competencies in Literacy, Writing, Math, Science, and Differentiated Interventions.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Including but not limited to carline duty, committee work, etc.
Compensation: $51,914-$77,589 (depending on experience, education level and FTE equivalent)
