About Rocky Mountain Prep Ruby Hill
Starting with Kindergarten and first grade in 2014 and adding a grade per year. STRIVE Prep - Ruby HIll will have a longer school day and year. Each day will include a morning meeting, reading, writing, math, social studies or science, physical education, Spanish, and choice-time. Our classrooms will have two teachers which will allow for more one on one attention for our students and stronger relationships between teachers and students and families. The literacy block will include instruction in groups of ten or less students, with the opportunity to use computers daily to reinforce literacy skills. We will have a longer math block so that students are able to work in small groups and at centers. Spanish instruction will take place four days a week and will be a prominent part of our school culture. We strongly value the home language and culture of the families and community members of Southwest Denver and are excited to make Spanish an important part of our school day. Students will also participate in physical education four days a week and choice time each day in order to develop social skills and put lessons learned from morning meeting and character education into practice.
