Apr 14 Operations & Finance Monthly Recap: Enrollment & Retention Strategy

Thank you to everyone who joined our April 14 Operations & Finance cohort meeting focused on enrollment and retention strategy. As schools work to fill remaining seats and plan ahead for next year, this was a timely conversation on what actually drives enrollment in today’s environment.

A special thank you to our guest speakers: Dallan and Shawn Wortham from Charter Connect, who shared insights from working with charter schools nationwide and highlighted practical strategies to improve enrollment outcomes.

    Key Takeaways
    - Impressions don’t equal enrollment. Visibility alone isn’t enough - schools need to focus on being found in the right places and converting that interest into action.
    - Search visibility matters. Families are increasingly relying on Google, and where your school shows up on the Search Engine Results Page (SERP) plays a major role in enrollment.
    - Website experience drives conversion. Once families click, clear navigation, fast load times, and an easy path to enrollment are critical (think: 3 clicks, 30 seconds).
    - Track cost per enrollment. Understanding what you’re spending to enroll each student helps inform smarter marketing decisions.
