About Mountain View Core Knowledge School
The school (including full-day kindergarten) covers 100 percent of the Core Knowledge Sequence with a multi-disciplinary approach to each area of study. Part-time teachers give additional instruction in Art, Music, PE, Band, Spanish, and teach Middle School Math, Science, History/Geography. Spanish is taught in all grades. Middle school is grades 6,7,8. There is a full time Teacher Assistant in every class, so staff: student ratio is 1:14 in the classroom. There is a half-time Assistant Administrator. Students participate in extra-curricular sport, drama, and clubs at the District Middle School. Hot lunch purchased from District two days a week. Dress code for students and staff. Excellent relationship with District Administration and schools. A very strong parental volunteer program supplements the curriculum, including P.T.O. and Advisory Committee. Emphasis on open communication between Board, administrators, staff, parent and students.
