About Lincoln Academy Charter School
Lincoln Academy is a K-8 Core Knowledge Public School.? There is a private preschool attached that also utilizes the Core Knowledge curriculum.? Lincoln has a back-to-basics approach.? Instruction is primarily whole group instruction, but differentiation is a regular part of every classroom.? With a solid language arts and math curriculum, the basics are well covered.? In addition, the richness of the literature, science, history and geography from the Core Knowledge sequence make it an excellent, well rounded school. The mission of Lincoln Academy is to help students attain their highest social and academic potential through an academically rigorous, content-rich educational program in a safe, orderly, and caring environment. The mission will be accomplished through the use of the Core Knowledge Sequence (as researched and developed by Dr. E. D. Hirsch of the University of Virginia and the Core Knowledge Foundation) and a traditional, fundamental, "back-to-basics" approach.
