About Horizons K-8 School
Since its establishment in 1991, Horizons K-8 School has been repeatedly named as a John R. Irwin School of Excellence. Adults and children collaborate to strengthen skills and maximize personal potentials in a unique, respectful, and effective learning environment. Teachers guide students to become self-directed learners and global community contributors in multi-age homerooms of 16-18. School goals include maintaining high academic and behavioral expectations for every student, honoring individual student interests and choices, and offering challenging, developmentally appropriate curriculum. Horizons is a Green Star School, recycling and composting to invest in the ecology of our school and community.
