Colorado League of Charter Schools Welcomes New Board Members
DENVER — April 2026 — The Colorado League of Charter Schools is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to its Board of Directors and a third elected to a second term: Tomi Amos, Ricky Bucher and Dr. Ian Stout. Their collective experience and commitment to fostering quality charter school education will empower the League's mission of helping charter schools thrive across Colorado.
Tomi Amos
Tomi Amos serves as the chief executive officer of KIPP Colorado Public Schools. As the daughter of immigrant parents and a product of public education herself, Amos has dedicated her career to providing pathways of social and economic mobility for students. Holding a B.A. in political science and international studies from Trinity University, a J.D. from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law and an M.Ed. in educational leadership from Columbia University, Amos combines her experience as both an educator and school leader to optimize educational opportunities for Colorado students.
“Tomi’s passion for leveraging education to uplift communities and her vision for innovation and excellence make her a tremendous addition to our board,” said Board Chair Nicole Wetzel.
Ricky Bucher
Ricky Bucher, a Colorado native, brings more than 20 years of experience in education to his role on the board. Bucher currently serves as executive director of Salida del Sol Academy, Weld County’s sole multi-cultural, dual language charter school. Over the course of his career, his expertise in bilingual education and leadership has positively impacted schools in various leadership roles within numerous Colorado school districts. Bucher’s approach is informed by his belief in the significant opportunities that bilingual programs provide for students.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Ricky, whose dedication to bilingual and multicultural education aligns perfectly with the League’s goals for supporting members,” said Wetzel.
Dr. Ian Stout
Dr. Ian Stout has served a first term on the League’s board and now will begin a second term starting July 1. He has been a guiding force in classical education for over a decade as executive director of Loveland Classical Schools. Since its opening in 2011, Dr. Stout has led efforts to implement a high-quality classical education program for students and families. Dr. Stout holds advanced degrees in history, philosophy, and education leadership, including his Doctor of Education, from the University of Colorado Denver. His contributions to charter school leadership include his advocacy for school choice statewide.
“Ian’s vision for fostering critical thinking and academic rigor, along with his steadfast support of school choice, reflects the values that drive the League’s mission to support and strengthen charter schools across Colorado,” said League president, Dan Schaller.
These three representative members represent a wealth of expertise, passion and leadership, strengthening the Colorado League of Charter Schools as it continues its mission to promote and support high-performing charter schools statewide.
“As we welcome Tomi Amos, Ricky Bucher and Dr. Ian Stout to the Colorado League of Charter Schools Board of Directors, I am filled with excitement and gratitude for the energy, expertise and passion they bring to our mission,” said Dan Schaller, president of the Colorado League of Charter Schools. “Each of these accomplished leaders shares a profound commitment to educational excellence and choice, and their diverse perspectives will strengthen our efforts to ensure every family across Colorado has access to exceptional charter schools.
