SpEd Leader Cohort Meeting Tomorrow (19th) at 9:30!

I had a great meeting yesterday with SPED team at Prospect Ridge Academy and we were discussing what was possible when building a sustainable, effective SPED program, and then today I met with the SPED team at GALs and we worked on a service decision-making flowchart that will help them streamline their decisions around services in alignment with their schools SPED continuum and guiding principles. And this got me thinking...perhaps the rest of you also are thinking about your programming and systems as a whole, have ideas and questions, and just need a chance to bounce your ideas off of someone. So tomorrow, we will be doing large group and breakout room discussions where you can share your ideas with each other and ask questions about how to eliminate barriers so you can execute those ideas. If you want to do some thinking ahead of time, feel free to fill in this google doc but I'll also plan to give folks some time to fill this in at the beginning of the meeting.

Maria Stafford, principal of New Vision Charter School, shared their schedule for an example of how to include WIN (What I Need) time into their students' day. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CPPu3SW5t9RfHXK75ztCflt4ZGoBeqRstn_Hf3Ds4Rw/edit?gid=1940085870#gid=1940085870
Reach out if you would like other scheduling ideas that maximize both intervention and SPED services throughout the school day.
