Security Infrastructure Collaboration
Questions about safety & security -At Frontier Academy, we are taking a fresh look at our security infrastructure and could use your help. Like everyone, we are trying to stay ahead of the curve as it relates to protecting students and staff from active threats. Our current security platforms have evolved, but we are curious if we are behind the masses or ahead of the game. Specifically, we are wanting to collaborate and compare how our safety plans and security infrastructure compare. A few examples of what I'm thinking of are: Surveillance platforms (cameras, weapons detection, and other technology), bullet resistant windows/walls, emergency response protocols, dedicated security staff, etc.
If your school would be willing to collaborate, please let me know directly. I'd like to visit with your security director or manger and compare notes to help gauge where we are and where we need to get to. If your school is interested and would allow me to visit, please respond with contact information. I can be reached at [email protected]. We are happy to share our information with you as well. Thanks for your consideration.

A couple resources:
1/ At our recent Annual Conference, Peggy Downs led a session on school safety grants and shared several helpful resources. Here's a link to her slides:
Funding School Safety: Practical Grant Strategies for Safer Charter Campuses
2/ Peggy also has a School Safety Scorecard available on her website that many schools have found helpful as a self-assessment tool. You can find it about halfway down this page:

Also if you or anyone is interested, I’d be happy to make an introduction to Peggy. She works with many schools on safety planning and grant strategy.
