Seeking Recommendations: Food Service Providers

We have received a question from a school who is exploring a transition away from their district-provided food services program and is looking for alternative provider options.

If your school currently partners with a non-district food service provider (or has evaluated other models) please consider sharing any recommendations, lessons learned, or considerations.

Peer insights and referrals are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

AXIS International (NoCo) also uses Michael's of Denver. They meet NSLP and SBP requirements. In the school's experience, it has been challenging to find any other vendor that meets state requirements for reimbursable meals. Michael's of Denver is the only caterer that will offer a program to AXIS with around 200 lunches/day. Other companies have declined a bid due to minimum daily requirements of 250+ lunches/day. Happy to discuss further.

Mountain Middle School (in Durango) works with local vendors to offer a catered lunch program. I would be happy to discuss this further if there is more interest.
