The 2026 Charter School Advocacy Day took place on Thursday, January 29th, in downtown Denver, bringing together charter school students, teachers, and leaders from across Colorado for a day of advocacy, learning, and leadership.
Attendees gained insight into the legislative process, learned effective advocacy strategies, and explored education bills that could impact charter schools. Participants visited the Capitol to meet with elected officials to discuss the unique needs of charter schools and how policymakers can support them.
The day was filled with inspiration, joy, and a clear reminder of what’s possible when we show up informed, prepared, and united. It was a unique opportunity to strengthen the collective voice of charter school advocates, reinforcing the importance of policy engagement and community support.
We extend an extra thank you to EF (Education First) for partnering with the Colorado League of Charter Schools as the exclusive sponsor for our 2026 Advocacy Day at the State Capitol! EF’s educational travel programs help students connect classroom learning to the real world—building confidence, empathy, and cultural understanding. EF offered guided walking tours through historic downtown Denver, giving students a chance to experience our state's civic and cultural history first-hand.
