Lunch Gets a Local Boost at Victory Prep Academy
In April, Chef Taylor of Nourish Colorado embarked on a culinary adventure with Victory Prep Academy in Commerce City, inspired by students' lunchtime cravings for ramen. The kitchen team, initially hesitant, faced the challenge of developing a new recipe. Drawing on their personal connection to the Mexican stew Birria, Chef Taylor and the team decided to blend its flavors with traditional ramen. Through their collaborative efforts, they created a unique Birria Ramen recipe that both delights taste buds and satisfies student cravings.
Victory Prep Academy is a participant in the Local Food Program and as a result of their local food program grant award, they receive funding for local foods and training from Nourish Colorado to incorporate those local foods into school lunch menus. Way to go, Victory Prep!
