Operations and Finance Cohort

Thanks to everyone who joined our September 15 Finance & Operations Cohort kickoff! It was great to reconnect as we start a new school year, preview this year’s cohort calendar, share League updates and resources, and spend time discussing what’s top of mind for schools right now.

A major focus of our conversation was Colorado’s new school funding formula and the importance of validating funding assumptions as we approach October Count. The new formula is being phased in this year, with at-risk, multilingual learner, and special education counts now factoring directly into school funding calculations. Now is the time to make sure your enrollment assumptions, student counts, expected funding, and authorizer calculations reconcile.
