About World Compass Academy
World Compass Academy is opening in Castle Rock in Fall 2015. It will open as a Pre-K through 5th grade school, growing by one grade per year until it is a Pre-K through 8th grade school. World Compass Academy equips students to go anywhere in the world with the foundational skills needed for success. We do this through: Mastery Based Learning Students cover material as they demonstrate a readiness and ability to learn the current material that is presented to them. After placement testing, students are placed in an academic level class for a maximum of twelve weeks. This class covers clearly articulated skills for one or more levels. Before moving onto new content, students must show skill mastery in their current level. They are thus able to more fully develop areas of weakness and are allowed to soar past normal expectations in areas of strength. Positive School Culture Students must feel safe in their learning environment if they are to take the risks they need to be educationally successful. World Compass Academy fosters a safe supportive learning environment. Foreign Language Education All students will receive 45 minutes daily of foreign language instruction. Language block will be taught immersion style.
