New Tools for Multilingual Learners CDE released a new resource to support linguistically responsive, data-based instruction for multilingual learners. The webpage walks teams through Like-Peer Comparisons to support RTI, reading interventions, and more. Free Amplify CKLA Materials Available for Donation AXIS is updating its K–5 Amplify CKLA curriculum and has unused workbooks and readers available for donation. Schools interested in picking up materials this summer are encouraged to reach out to learn more. Free Girls’ Leadership Curriculum Lean In Girls is a free, evidence-based leadership curriculum for girls ages 11–15, designed to build confidence, reframe failure, and inspire bold leadership. With 15 one-hour sessions, it’s easy to implement in after-school programs, advisory, or enrichment periods. Free K-12 Math Resources The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) has released free K-12 math resources to improve student proficiency. Developed with educators and institutions, these toolkits offer research-based materials, assessments, and activities to address declining math scores.

Leadership Transition in Schools of Choice Unit After eight years, Bill is leaving his role as Executive Director of the Schools of Choice Unit to lead The STEAD School, a project-based charter high school. He highlights the growth and resilience of Colorado’s charter, online, and innovation schools, now serving over one in four public students. The unit remains in strong hands for the next chapter. Preliminary Title I-A Allocations Update The Colorado Department of Education announced a slight decline in the state’s preliminary Fiscal Year 2025 Title I-A allocation, due to approximately 3,400 fewer eligible students based on census data. Preliminary LEA allocations will be available by mid-June. All prior communications are available on the CDE website. Celebrating Excellence in Colorado Schools CDE awarded 695 honors to 71 districts and 346 schools for exceptional performance in the 2023 and 2024 school years. Recognized schools include Denver School of the Arts, Liberty Common High School, The Classical Academy, and Peak to Peak Charter School — each demonstrating outstanding academic growth and achievement. Senate Votes to Overturn FCC Hotspot Rule On May 8, the Senate passed a measure to overturn the FCC rule allowing E-Rate funds for off-campus Wi-Fi hotspots for students. The House has not yet acted.
